Turkish Citizenship
Turkish Citizenship for Your Family: Spouse and Children Explained
Legit Law · 23 October 2026 · 2 min read

One of the main reasons families choose Turkish citizenship by investment is that a single investment can cover the whole family.
Who can be included?
- **The main applicant** who makes the investment
- **Spouse**
- **Children under 18**
Children who are 18 or older are not included as dependants in the same way, so families with older children should plan early.
What about children born later?
Children born to a Turkish citizen after citizenship is granted can generally acquire Turkish citizenship by descent.
Family documents
Marriage and birth certificates from your home country are needed, usually apostilled or legalised and translated into Turkish. Preparing them early avoids the most common delays.
The investment stays the same
The USD 400,000 property or USD 500,000 bank deposit threshold does not increase for family members.
